Today Martin did the stats on our regular grocery bill.
He compared the prices of the same product bought exactly 2 years ago with this week´s purchase.
Here are some of the basics: milk $3.57, now $5.07
flour $1.88, now $2.76
sugar $3.60, now $5.80.
toilet paper $1.46, now $2.79
Paper products, meat, dairy products ..... you name it, it´s jumped up in price.
Today in ladies bible study the women were discussing the difficulty of managing their homes (and kitchens!) with an unchanging wage but a weekly increase in food costs.
It certainly is a huge challenge.
