Very interesting first talk

The first talk in the series 'Creer es también Pensar' went really well on Friday. We filled the lecture room with around 90 students and graduates. The talk was exellent, starting with an introduction about how Western society tries to deny the reality of death, especially by over-medicalising it, and then going on to talk about 'dying with dignity'. The speaker clarified that this is not euthanasia, which accelerates death, but rather allowing the patient to die in the presence of family and friends without the whole process being medicalised. It certainly got the students thinking and chatting.
