Wedding Argentine style

We are off to Buenos Aires this weekend (700km) for a wedding of some friends. It will be the first Argentine wedding we have been to and are really looking forward to it.

The service is at 7pm on Saturday afternoon (7pm is still afternoon in Argentina), and then a reception afterwards. We all get to go- Argentines are generally very big on including all the family, and we have no idea what time it will finish.

In Argentina the 'civil' part is separated from the church part- that is, the service in the church has no legal standing. You are only legally married by going to the registry. Generally people will do this a day or two before the church service and usually just with immediate family and close friends.

Back in the Big Smoke again with all the family! (oh, and of course its another long weekend here- Australia has nothing on Argentina when it comes to long weekends).
