Sorry to admit but we have just eaten at Maccas. The strange thing is that in Argentina Maccas is really quite expensive. We had some 2 for 1 vouchers, so that it made it reasonable. But a McCombo meal like the one we had normally sells for AR$25 (just the medium size). Now with the exchange rate thats not too bad. One Aussie dollar at the moment is AR$3.50. But, in comparison to what you can buy elsewhere, its a rip-off! The other night, from a regular fast food place, Julie and I had 2 large hamburgers with fries and a 1 litre Coke all for AR$28. For AR$25 you can eat in a cheap restaurant, and in some places you could have an all you can eat asado for that price!
Hence, strangely enough, Maccas is something very much for the middle-classes (and above). Its almost more like a status symbol- weird for an Aussie to think that!
