For the first time in 3 years we were able to get away for a weekend to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. We took advantage of the church pre-adolescent camp (L and E went off with 50 other kids to the north of Cordoba), while the younger 2 kids stayed two nights with their buddies from church. Everyone had a beaut time!
Like uni student camps, those run for kids in the church also keep a different schedule. Lights out for the 10-12 year olds was 12.30am on Friday night, then 1.00am on Saturday night, but of course the chatting and mischief continued long after that (2.30am!). Our kids are very good sleepers, and unfortunately bore the brunt of the annual camp stunt ... to decorate the face of the first person to sleep with toothpaste. Ellie caught someone about to ´paint´ her face, but Lachie was not so lucky when he woke the next morning .... sometimes being a solid sleeper has its drawbacks.
