We got back from the camp late on Sunday. It was a great time- good teaching of the Bible, great time of getting to know each other better. As often happens on camps, some of the best conversations were unplanned- the students sat around on Sat evening after dinner asking our speaker all sorts of questions- on suffering, homosexuality and other things.
Julie did the cooking, so of course the food was great, especially the desserts! I think we are getting used to the timing- of course we had dinner late, at about 10pm both nights.
One difference to Australian weekend aways is that the students didn't want to leave. In Australia generally, as soon as we finish lunch on the Sunday, everyone is out of there. Not here. We had another session of free time, then a closing session, and then the students all went to the local town and hung out together. They got home late Sunday night- they really value getting away and they make the most of every minute.
