Our 12 year old son changes his ´appearance´ very easily.
Today I heard him chatting on the phone with a schoolfriend. He was explaining the Spanish homework to his mate, a student who comes from the USA.
The strange bit was that he was explaining a Spanish concept with a strong Yankee accent!
It seems so natural for our kids to adapt to the culture they find themselves in. It´s not that they are losing their Aussiness, they are just adding other facets to their ´appearance´ !
Our son is working out how to be most easily understood by the crowd, and sometimes I wish I could adapt as easily to my environment as he does.
