Jacob the cook

We had a lot of fun on the camp for young people (jovenes) from church this weekend.
None more so than Jacob.

Our littlest man took it upon himself to help Graciela in the kitchen, and because she is an absolute delight to be with, he could not be convinced to leave!

So Jacob helped prepare and serve various meals, including dinner at 10pm at night.

All the meals were typically Argentine.

Which was to Jacob's advantage when it came to the Games afternoon. One part of the afternoon was an Argentine Cook Off. Each team selected 3 cooks. They would need to prepare a typical Argentine dish at lightening speed, according to the instructions given by their team mates.

Jacob volunteered to represent his team (as did Lachie!). They all assembled alfajores, a typical biscuit held together with caramel sauce and coconut. Jacob listened carefully to Graciela's instructions, as he had been doing in the camp kitchen.

It was a fun afternoon for all, but especially for our little cook!

  1. Is that Lachie on the right? I am coming to terms with Looking Sam in the eye but I keep getting surprised when his friends grow too. Sounds like a fun weekend. We pray for fruit of all sorts from these relationships. Louise C
